The quality of the top coat is also very very important. I dunno if just clear polish would work, since topcoat doesn't generally cost more so I just buy that. Also booking the polish over the very end of the nails helps me a lot in preventing chipping. It dries out my skin, and I've noticed an ovbious difference: I go at least 2 days without showering, sometimes 3....looove it! Did you actually know that it's perfectly healthy to go up to 7 days without getting a shower? Not saying that I'd do it! But our body is meant to secrete oils and so on; its not supposed to get washed every day. Just thought it was interesting. I don't think it's good for my hair, but I have thick wavy/curly hair that tends to get very greasy, so if I don't wash it then it's just gross.
