What are your tips on getting rid of body fat?

i recently gained 15 pounds (yay for college!) and I'm hating the way I look. What are the best ways to cut down body fat? I started running on the treadmill for one 1/2 hour every day and eating healthier. I just want to do this the safe way!

Losing bodyfat isn't an overnight ordeal. It takes a lot of time, patience, and persistance. Cardio is an absolute must (and building muscle is a good idea too because the more muscle you have the more calories you burn whilst sendentary). I can not stress that enough.

As for meals, try to keep them small with 1 snack in between (also small). The main focus of the meals need to be either fruit or veggies (or both) and LEAN protein. Stay away from a lot of grains (whilst on tha subject, only eat whole grains) because they're essentially just starch which coverts to fat if either eaten in abundance or not utilized. I know that the food pyramid says the you must eat more grains than any other food group, but that is a LIE! The overconsumption of grains is why America is fat (hooray for building our food system on the common exports of our farming).

When it comes to drinks, stick with water. It's ok to cheat and have a coffee or a tea every once in a while... just watch to sugar.

    I hope this helps. :)

diet and exercise. Cardio will def help you shed the lbs but at the same time, lifting is really important. I work out every day and i will be the first to admit, i hate lifting. Coming from a mom who was a professional body builder, i was always lectured on how important it is. Truth is, when i do lift, i see a dramastic change in my body. It becomes toned and I drop more weight if i mix lifting with cardio. As far as cardio is concerned, intervals burns the most calories and gets you toned. sprint, walk, sprint walk, change bewteen and incline and flat.

    best of luck

excercise, drink atleast 7 glasses of water a day. eat food that is more organic than most get those vitamins inside your body. CLA tablets and Green tea help me lose weight to. Or stress. Ive been stressed for reasons i will not explain.. i was 11 st 4 i am now 9 st 3. Obviously that is very unhealthy. Never the less just keep active to keep your metabolism going, drink water so you do not bloat, and eat good healthy foods to get the right nutreints for your body.

Honestly, i'm sure what you're doing will work soon enough if you stick to it :-) I'm also trying to lose some of the holiday weight that i've recently gained (and have been trying for a while now since by 'the weight that i gained recently', i mean 'the weight i gained last summer') and i haven't found any tip more successful than one i read a few weeks ago; just drink loads of water! Seriously, it's not a waste of your time. I've been drinking water whenever i feel myself wandering over to the cupboards (which, if i'm honest, is a lot of the time) because i find that i tend to snack just for something to do.. so the water's kind of a zero-calorie replacement. It even fills you up so you can eat smaller portions of food. But not only does it help you to cut down, apparently, the more water that you drink, the faster your body burns off calories. I'm not sure why, it's something to do with your body going in to 'maintenance mode', it made sense when i read it, but i'm definitely seeing results! Good luck with your weight loss :-)

Go low fat vegan the pounds will melt off. Fresh fruit and vegetables should be your diet staple. Also do a little bit of exercise every day. Example: 200 jumping jacks a day, 60seconds of plank pose, 60 second wall sit. Or do activity you like. Dancing. Basically anything to get you moving. I've lost tons of weight just making up silly little exercises on my own. Your body can't tell if you've paid for a gym membership or not, just move it! :)

My BMI is around 19ish. I have lost over 50lbs so this is coming from the voice of experience.
